Privacy Policy for Claude Usage Bar

Claude Usage Bar is a browser extension that displays your Claude.ai usage limits (your current 5-hour session and weekly all-models usage, and an Opus allowance if your plan has one) in a small bar under the chat.

What the extension accesses

While you are signed in to claude.ai, the extension reads your usage data from Claude’s own endpoints using the session that is already in your browser:

• Your organization id and name (to address the correct usage endpoint).
• Your usage figures: utilization percentages and reset times for the 5-hour, 7-day (all models), and Opus windows.

These reads happen roughly every five minutes for as long as the extension is installed and enabled, including when no claude.ai tab is open, so that the numbers you see are current rather than left over from your last visit. They stop when you turn the extension off on its Settings page.

How the data is used and stored

This data is used only to render the usage bar and the extension’s popup. It is stored locally on your own device using the browser’s storage.local area (your display preferences and the most recent usage numbers, so the bar can show instantly).

What we do NOT do

• We do not send your data to the developer or to any third-party server. The only network requests the extension makes are to claude.ai, your own service.
• We do not sell or transfer your data to anyone.
• We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to showing your usage.
• We do not read, store, or transmit the content of your conversations.

Permissions

• storage: saves your preferences and last-seen usage numbers locally.
• host access to https://claude.ai/*: reads your usage from your logged-in session. No other website is accessed.
• alarms: schedules the periodic refresh described above. It is a timer only, and gives the extension no additional access to your data.
• commands: the keyboard shortcut to show or hide the bar.

Limited Use

Claude Usage Bar’s use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data accessed is used solely to provide the extension’s single user-facing purpose (showing your usage) and is not transferred off your device.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored. You can also clear it from chrome://extensions or your browser’s site/extension data tools.
